# Why is my microphone not working?

## Steps to follow when you are a speaker and your mic doesn't work on Chrome.

If you connect to Inteprefy's RSI platform as a speaker and the mic icon is grey and looks like this:

we recommend you check that your microphone is allowed in Chrome settings, as follows:

2. Click on “Site settings” option.

3. Change microphone setting to "Allow".![](https://knowledge.interprefy.com/hubfs/image-png-May-13-2021-02-02-38-77-PM.png)

4. Refresh the event page.

5. You should be able to choose the sound device and to connect to the event as “Audio Only”.
